Traveling
I have been a lot more nervous about traveling recently. I have long understood there were extra security measures where I was headed. But this time felt like I was going to be treated as a special case (and not in a friendly way). Waiting in the airport confirmed the suspicion.
As I was waiting (a longer wait than usual) security guard asked me for my documents. He asked where I was traveling, if I was carrying weapons, what I did in the country, and more. Routine for the place, I guess. And nothing came of it.
The other steps of leaving the Middle East went smoothly, including getting more than the approved amount of liquid (in this case, olive oil) across the final security barrier. And I finished my airport experience with a free whisky tasting at the duty-free shops :-)
Hope to see lots of people supporting Ultimate Peace over the next few days. Here's a rough itinerary. Peace!
