Ultimate time

Major happenings: economic recession, deaths close to me, tax season, political turmoil.

But let's change the subject a bit. Y'all readers know of ultimate frisbee. Some have been around this site long enough to have read about me playing for Chain the first go round (most of it, 05-06, was before benjamminspearsblog actually), Monster in the middle, and then Chain as of late.

Since October of last year, I've spent more time coaching than training. And the series for the team I coach is coming up - this weekend in fact. The Wreck ladies are going to Gainesville to compete in South Sectionals for a spot at Atlantic Coast Regionals. So that's exciting.

But I've also been gearing up to restart the competitive playing season. Mentally, I'm giving myself a harder time now that its April for not working out more often (mainly cardio, but also weights and stretching). Physically, I've spent a little more time biking seriously, lifting irregularly (deadlift, squats or split squats, and hip/ab stuff), and pushing my car when it breaks down -- take that Fred and Poole!!!

Then there's the actual gear I'll need for the season. 

• I have turfs. Need new cleats. So I'm looking at this under armour site. Any reviews on their cleats would be helpful
  
• I have old running shoes. Need some new ones
• I'm sporting long fingernails (relative to what they are during the season). Need to cut those
• Plane tickets, like to Seattle, Maryland and Sarasota, plus maybe Boston, Santa Cruz and Austin
• Unlimited Gatorade
