Observations on language
As you know, ultimate peace camp is a tri lingual affair (arabic, hebrew, english). Here are some anecdotes from camp preparation, along with what I'm struggling with.
First instance was that I was approached day one of preparation to help with the language of our campers' survey. I worried for a second cause I'm not fluent in Arabic, and how would I tell the survey creator (from Massachusetts) that he came to the wrong place.
Funny thing is that he was asking got help with the english... Had to laugh at the difficulty in one language, not even mentioning the second and third languages we work in here.
Second big thing: my main effort right now is working with different people's strong background in ultimate and unique work style. Overall, I feel I'm more aware of other coaches than in 2011, which means I don't just plow through their unique talent and working style. Feedback from my camp experience a couple years ago was also that local coaches did not get enough credit for their experience and knowledge.
I text to this difficulty by trying to massage situations and reach an agreeable goal.
Gotta run for now. Enjoy this photo of Asma and Dani.
