Ultimate Peace 9 - Seriously 9?
Today was hump day at Ultimate Peace. Only two full days left. Today was a day dedicated to all sports, like volleyball, soccer, kickball, handball, and basketball... plus fun water games here on campus (other days we've gone to the pool). Also today had the added benefit of being able to show off camp to important Israeli ministry people.
An advantage of not having to coach several sessions and just pimp up the guys of mine playing each sport was some relaxation time, between cheers and stations/water fights. Then the coaches teamed up to play a short game of ultimate against counselors in training (younger, mainly american and israeli high school ultimate enthusiasts). We got em pretty good...the coaches nearly blanking the other team after a couple scores each. More importantly the campers thought it was cool to see, alot of whom have asked several times who is the fastest player in american ultimate. Most common question.
I've felt a little irritated at times with uncooperative, unmotivated, and persistently challenging campers. Still, with guys imitating my trick throws, picking up on our team songs, and generally enjoying this meaningful stuff, Im not complaining. Tonight were having a cheer/spirit competition and I feel my team is poised to win. Below are a couple Fanta guys getting need sustenance in the cafeteria.
