Ultimate Peace 10 - Moving On
Ultimate Peace Camp's climax came and went last Friday/Saturday. We had a talent show evening activity, official ultimate tournament, and watched the obligatory slide show with camp pictures and emotional music over the montage.
Coaches and staff cleaned up, relaxed, partied, rafted on the Hogan, visited the border with Lebanon, and watched the disappointing women's world cup final. Then finished Ultimate Peace by visiting the villages that campers come from to say hey, meet community leaders, accept hospitality from family, etc. I saw Kfaar Tevor and a little of Daburiyya (sp?). Glad that two of my campers (you know by now my team was Fanta) showed up with a smile.
In the middle if all this, I tried blogging...had a great entry Friday and then blogger service failed. Moving on. I visited Jerusalem today with friends for an excellently guided tour, during which I learned, alongside some other coaches, about the character, religiosity, and politics of the city and how all of it is reflected around the world. Aster that, over a few hours, drove with three friends closer to Petra in Jordan, to be ready for an exciting day there tomorrow.
Take a look at The Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem. Breath-taking stuff all throughout the city.
