Seattle tourism

I started to post on this past weekend's Emerald City Classic tournament. Here's a little more of a photo diary of the non-ultimate parts of the weekend. It should be obvious that I had a great time.

Here's Poole, Jenna, and me at the entrance to the Botanical Garden and Locks. FYI: Jenna and I have not seen each other since December 2003, when my semester abroad ended. She stayed in Morocco another semester, fell in love with her now-husband, and currently lives a mile from these locks/gardens. My thanks to Jenna and Ali for hosting Poole and me.

Here is one section of the locks. The left side of the water had been raised already from the ocean level to the sound level. The walkway on the right side of the picture doubles as the final gate before boats enter the sound. The number and size of fish on the sound side of the water was very impressive. They were constantly jumping out of the water :)

For some reason, this neighborhood has a chair on the sidewalk that encourages silly pictures.

Later Thursday night, four Chain players get into an accident in which the sedan flipped twice but ended right side up and without the airbags inflating. When the four guys finally get to the hotel after the accident around 2am (5am east coast time - almost 24 hours after most of the guys got up), I took this picture of Berendes. Three cheers for seatbelts! Seriously, they were very lucky.
