Today's Weather
I hate the nice weather.
Couldn't we get at least a few more miserable days per year? This may come as a surprise to you, but I actually need bad weather sometimes to rejuvenate. The sunny, 75 degrees, and clear might avoid all the 'You can plan a pretty picnic but you can't predict the weather' problems.
But what about people's memory, psychological balance between happy-go-lucky and pensive, and all the other needs the world has for rainy or otherwise inclimate days? I woke up today dreading the gorgeous weather. I pulled and twisted my blinds last night just so I wouldn't have to wake up to the awfully perfect day.
A friend told me recently that Los Angelinos have worse memory cause the season never really changes. We have summer and we have summer light. That's it.
And its so fucking blah now... I want a break. A storm. There ought to be some bad weather so we have a reason (other than my psychosis) to stay in (maybe the psychosis can be productive, like for this blog and my unrelated emerging business strategy).

as an east-coast girl i feel you on that, hardcore. it was really nice to be in boston/brooklyn this vacation to get my fill of dreary stay-at-home-read-a-book days as well as foggy mysteriously-gray-wandering-the-city days.
ironically, i chose to go to school in SoCal to get away from all that. especially the weeks of freezing rain around March. having just arrived in Lala Land this morning though, and stepping out of winter straight into summer, i wondered if it's like this for people who live in paradise (hawaii, fiji, or what have you). i guess paradise is what you make it, and the grass is always greener on the other side. meh.
solution: come visit me. and bring your rain jacket.
good post Ben why do you hate the awesome weather?
This is where I am supposed to say, "you should have flown out yesterday and helped me shovel Alexis' and then my car out of a foot of wet heavy ass snow" but you are right. I felt like shoveling. It was brainless repetitive work, which is allright by me when the air is crisp, the trees are all white and it is peaceful as...hell (sometime the "as hell" comparison just doesn't work), but you get the picture. Now after two months of this I am gonna be ready for LA like weather, but for now it is nice.
That's a lot of bold, Mr. Spears. Let it all out, it's okay.
