Corn and Coal and Way Too Much Else

Animals and farms used to look like what's above. Charlotte's Web-type stuff.

Last night's discussion with Dave and Sam started on our way into Subway, continued through the ordering line, and finished at the dinner table.

I really enjoyed reading "Fast Food Nation" and would definitely recommend it if you're trying to educate yourself. Although it a couple years old and thus somewhat dated, the points it brings across still carry weight - the author maps changes over 40 years, and I'd say they've only accelerated in the time since publication.
It makes a strong case for changing consumer behaviour, even though it doesn't set out to do so.
