The dogs
Michael Vick very likely did something illegal by hosting fights between dogs. If you ain't heard about it, the AJC story is here. Also, some dog-lovers write about their work against dog-fighting here. Dog-fighting is animal cruelty and an almost entirely destructive form of entertainment for the spectators, as well as the dogs. Vick should set a better example and, if he's going to do it, at least do a better job hiding it all (instead of leaving dozens of dogs on the property after he moved out).

i forgot to go into detail about this and other exploitative sports... i have noticed that most professional sports have their stadiums in poor neighborhoods meaning that the millions and billions that go into the structure and marketing of sports doesn't reach even the neighbors of the sports teams' arenas.
also, many college and professional teams' athletes come from urban areas that offered a poor education but the token opportunities of athletic success.
i'm more talking about basketball, football, and baseball. but the exploitation, corporate profit and community destitution (except for the very small group that makes millions), exist in most major sports.
I agree with most of your points, but these stadiums also provide tons of jobs, albeit seasonal employment, to many people in the area. You can't overlook that.
It seems to me that a lot of things are justified on the grounds of 'seasonal employment' when they shouldn't be. I'm sure it depends on where the stadiums are and who works there, but I feel like there is a certain moral standard that should accompany work... then again, I guess it's worse not to be able to make a living. Couldn't people build something else though?
