On my to-do list

Today's Friday and, although I arrived ten days ago, I feel that this is the first real TGIF opportunity. Since deciding to move to Los Angeles, I have browsed some 150 housing options, contacting almost half, and holding plenty of inner monologues about the most important characteristics of housing. Once I arrived on Wednesday the 6th, I was off to the races and looked at 5 places in the first day. Although I thought I would choose among the best two from that day, a new lead (I saw more places, but didn't find the right one til Sunday) would present the best amenities. Namely, I wanted to live close to work and I live about a mile from work now. With all this to think about, and the feelings of separation from most east coast comforts and relationships, I had a mentally busy first few days.

Perhaps I deserved a 'TGIF' opportunity before now. But, alas, I'm taking it today.

I am interested in watching a high school football game out here in L.A. I have more realistic and mature interests, but until I fulfill this one, I won't feel like this fall really happened (college and other football on TV doesn't quite generate the same familiarity that a live band and crowd does). Besides, maybe I'll find just the right school at which to utilize my kicking-coach skills. Some teen needs my advice on the left-footed punt or the tumble-and-knock-the-opening-kick-off-ball-with-my-helmet move... ask me about that later.

Also on my to-do/explore list is the Natural History Museum (NHM) very near to where I am now (follow this link to get a sense of what is within walking distance of my office - about the bottom margin is my apartment and the top (on the east side of the 110 is my office) - the NHM is part of Exposition Park -- http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=90037&ie=UTF8&om=1&z=16&ll=34.013058,-118.279581&spn=0.008289,0.021458&iwloc=A )). you'll have to click and drag from left to right (into the dark part of the screen.

Next up on the (not at Project Vote/ACORN) to-do list:
+Learn to speak Spanish, followed by
+Learn more about Dr King and other social philosophers/actors via USC's Applied Social Sciences Library
+Purchase and maintain a nice bicycle
+Play ultimate or dance in an organized group
+Read?
+Learn to cook with flavor

That's the window I'm providing tonight. I plan to write more about this metropolis, and how I interact with it at this stage in my life, soon.

p.s. I am not proofreading the posts very well, so I apologize either for posting them at all or for not re-reading them for errors, embellishments, etc.
