Ode to Rebecca

Two months ago, I was introduced to Rebecca H. through a friend. The friend who introduced Rebecca and me knew to do so even though the friend and I don't see each other often. The introduction happened through email and I followed up. Set up a short phone meeting with Rebecca. And our conversation lasted only a few minutes.

The Rebecca in your life is anybody who does these things:

• poses difficult questions
• hears your interests for the future - and reflects them back to you
• asks "if not now, then when?"
• gets straight to the point

Everyone deserves to have a Rebecca in their life. It took me a while to appreciate it. Now that I feel her importance, I want everyone to encounter Rebecca. Many Rebeccas have encouraged me to dream and live out my dreams. I hope that she pops up all over the place. I hope that I'm Rebecca to my people.
