Spirit

The team of players I'm coaching is incredible! So ivonne that an opposing team in today's tournament even awarded a spirit prize to a guy who is injured, didn't play, but was so vocal and positive. Its amazing to see spirit development of so many good players, and good people.

It's also the part of camp when youth issues and fatigue wear down my ideal reactions. I'm still energized to meet new friends here (i dont think its possible to meet everyone here in so few days, but I can get close). But when we got off the bus for our evening pool bbq, I felt almost blinded by the tiredness. Recognizing the spirit, and letting it move me, has helped me continue.

Did a little dancing, played 500, swam in a race, ate, sang. Then when I felt like collapsing tonight back at the dorm, a coach-in-training's rendition of Hallelujah wafts through my bedroom window. Reminds me of the sprituality of this intense experience, great sport, and wonderful camp. Giving thanks for my surroundings and life.

Here is a picture of campers tracking the camp tournament. The fire throwers won both games today and showed great spirit. We have two more tomorrow.
