Unrare
Last night's party was awesome. Started a little early but the wrestling, friends, and booze made it fun. Some folks moved indoors when the rain started around 11. And, like old Unit E, the kitchen was the real shennanigan spot.
A little punching led to a little kissing. But I was ready to take off, get enough sleep ahead of today's practice and afternoon volunteering. So that was that... I thought. I loaded my bike into a friends truck and was home in 10 minutes.
Only to get a "Where did you go?" text message.
I didn't have this person's number in my phone and wasn't entertaining whatever the next question could have been. So I wrote back "Home."
Her next question was as leading as one might expect. My reply came out after little thought and much angst since. I wrote "I don't have your number saved. Who is this?"
The last message of the night from her read "Nobody ;) nitey nite." And all day today I feel like I really offended this person by not knowing who would be flirting with me about going home...
Its obvious in this story and in my hindsight who it was. And I haven't made the call/text to apologize or at least admit how stupid I was. But maybe she wasn't so offended. And this is signified by the wink. But it was a misstep either way. And I was so focused on it all day today, including at practice. :(
